The Lawman

Water-Soluble Oils | 20" x 12"
Framed: $695
I stumbled upon the lawmen in an odd setting...a Model A Ford owners convention that was using our town as it's meeting point. I obviously went to take photos of the cars (at least one you will see as a painting in the future). While walking back to my more modern day vehicle, the lawmen were discussing the finer points of sheriffing directly behind my car. Okay, I have no idea what they were discussing since my hearing leaves much to be desired. Standing there with camera in hand, I asked to shoot them to be met with menacing poses and drawn guns. Maybe wrong choice of words. In reality, they were only too happy to pose. But, NO, my camera card was FULL. Dang it...just hold that a minute while I delete some images here. Graciously they did and I got some more relaxed pics.

Dance in a Hurricane

Acrylic on Panel |
9" x 12"
Framed:
$449
Very few people sail through life without encountering a storm or two. It's how you get through it that defines the truth of who you really are. Do you hide your head and wait for it to pass or do you embrace the strength and beauty of the storm to find the same in yourself. We only have one life. Dance through the hurricane.

Boy of Many Faces Series
Acrylic on Panel | 8" x 8" Framed: $275 each piece
I encountered this young boy while at a Dickens themed festival as I was waiting for a parade to begin. His antics were so amusing that I couldn't help but turn my camera on him and snap away. Capturing his expressions in paint from those source photos was a project I enjoyed immensely.

The Old Power Plant
Acrylic on Panel | 23.5" x 18.5"
Framed: $695
Each October during Harvest Moon Festival, they fire up the machines in the Old Power Plant near the Historic Square in Granbury. It's not something to be missed. Admist the roaring machines, this quiet corner by the window was calling out to me.

The Sweetest Rose
Acrylic on Watercolor Board | 11" x 17"
$850.00
The title comes from a line in the song "The Yellow Rose of Texas" which was an often requested song from my Dad's road trip repertoire during my childhood. I still know all the words. These are old world cottage roses, though a botanist would likely chastise me since these are not actually Rosa×harisonii…the rose considered the yellow rose of Texas.

Apricot Blossoms I" and "Apricot Blossoms II
Acrylic on Watercolor Board | 4" x 6"
$200 a piece
We have an apricot tree perched on the edge of property overlooking the lake from about 15 feet up. It's somehow growing on solid rock. We were here 2 years before I even knew it was there and even then I had to look up the leaf shape to identify the smattering of fruit. It has only born a significant amount of fruit when we've had an especially wet winter. The flowers are beautiful and smell heavenly though especially susceptible to the weather.

Red
Acrylic on Panel | 8.75" x 9.75
$549
Some people think I should have called it "Orange." I'm sticking with 'Red." I bought this art glass bowl at an antique store quite a while ago with the intention of painting it. I had quite a time figuring out what exactly to do with it. I finally settled on combining it with these red globe grapes. Flowers just didn't look right with it.
